Making sense of it

Using a board

Cluster evidence with other people, and turn a cluster into an insight.

A board shows your evidence as sticky notes on a canvas, grouped into columns. It is for the part between capturing evidence and writing an insight: making sense of it with other people.

Opening one

  • Board view on the Evidence page opens whatever that list is filtered to.
  • Board view on an opportunity shows what you know about it.
  • Boards in the sidebar has a few starting views, and any boards the team has saved.

Working on it

  • Group by theme to see patterns; by source type to see when a theme rests on one channel alone.
  • Search the board to dim everything that does not match — the quickest way to focus a room.
  • Drag a note to move it. Grouped by review status, dragging between columns reviews the evidence.
  • Add your own notes for the thinking a board produces. If a note turns out to be an observation, Capture as evidence starts a record from it.

From a cluster to an insight

Select the cluster — click a column heading to take the whole column, shift-drag a box around a group, or hold Command or Shift and click notes one at a time. The bar at the bottom then offers Create insight from these, which opens the insight with that evidence attached.

Copy for Figma puts the board on your clipboard as editable sticky notes, for when the workshop needs to happen there.
